June 8: World Oceans Day

The UN General Assembly created World Oceans Day to allow local, national and international governments, as well as the general public, to celebrate the planet’s lungs. One of the goals of the day is to gain attention, raise awareness and mobilize resources to meet sustainable development goals.

Objectif Sciences International, an NGO which works closely with the United Nations, participates in the GENEVA FORUM in order to highlight and assess the advances made regarding the protection of the oceans, which are essential to maintaining biodiversity and the balance of fauna and flora. The annual meeting helps to remind individuals of their responsibility to keep the oceans clean, in particular through the rational and sustainable use of plastic.
