August 9: International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples

The UN General Assembly created the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples to allow local, national and international governments, as well as the general public, to organize events celebrating these peoples and their deep respect for their environment, both of which have been badly abused. One of the goals of this day is to gain attention, raise awareness and mobilize resources to meet sustainable development goals.

Objectif Sciences International, an NGO which works closely with the United Nations, participates in the GENEVA FORUM in order to highlight and assess progress on the recognition of their identities and cultures. They have been victims of discrimination and injustice, particularly with regards to their lands which they have tried to preserve without real success.

If you wish to attend or present a project at the Forum, please register under the “Rights of Nature" category by clicking on the following link: GENEVA FORUM Program
