September 29: International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste

The UN General Assembly created the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste to allow local, national and international governments, as well as the general public, to organize events in support of this cause. One of the goals of the day is to gain attention, raise awareness and mobilize resources to meet sustainable development goals.

Objectif Sciences International, an NGO which works closely with the United Nations, participates in the GENEVA FORUM in order to highlight the gravity of this situation in our unequal world. With a large portion of the population not having enough to eat, the international community, in particular communities in the Western world, must be aware of the need to produce less, but of higher quality, in order to avoid waste. Affluent societies are neither a viable nor sustainable model.

If you wish to attend or present a project at the Forum, please register under the “Inclusive Pedagogy” or "Rights of Nature" category by clicking on the following link: GENEVA FORUM Program
