June 5: International Day for the Fight against Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing

The UN General Assembly created the International Day for the Fight against Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing to allow local, national and international governments, as well as the general public, to organize events around food security, in particular with regards to fishing related resources. One of the goals of the day is to gain attention, raise awareness and mobilize resources to meet sustainable development goals.

Objectif Sciencee International, an NGO which works closely with the United Nations, participates in the GENEVA FORUM in order to raise awareness of the harmful impact illegal fishing has and the importance of marine life biodiversity.
