September 16: International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer

The UN General Assembly created the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer to allow local, national and international governments, as well as the general public, to organize events in support of this cause. One of the goals of the day is to gain attention, raise awareness and mobilize resources to meet sustainable development goals.

Objectif Sciences International, an NGO which works closely with the United Nations, participates in the GENEVA FORUM in order to highlight the degradation of the ozone layer and its impact. The Montreal Protocol and the cessation of the use of substances harmful to the ozone layer had a positive impact after a few years. If efforts continue, the problem should be fully resolved by 2060, we must therefore, keep up these efforts.
